Easy Steps to Download FIR Copy Online from All State Police Website

In compliance with a directive from the Delhi High Court on December 6th, 2010, individuals now have the ability to download a copy of an FIR (First Information Report) online from the State Police Website. The court mandated that anyone indicted is entitled to receive a duplicate of the FIR within 24 hours of its registration. Although the court exempted certain sensitive cases from public disclosure, it ordered FIRs to be uploaded online within 24 hours of registration.

To access the FIR copy online, follow these straightforward steps:

  1. Visit the State Police Station website.
  2. Locate the FIR section or runner.
  3. Enter the FIR number, Police Station name, and any other required details.
  4. Initiate the search and download the duplicate FIR when it appears in the search results.

For a seamless search process, having the FIR number is essential. However, if you are the individual who filed the FIR, you can also obtain a duplicate copy directly from the Police Station. In such cases, the FIR number and Police Station details are necessary for online download.

Certain FIRs are available for public access, but specific details are still required for retrieval. Mandatory fields include the District, Police Station, and Year. Additionally, you may need to input a date range (FIR Date From and To fields) and the name of either the accused, complainant, or victim. Partial names can also be entered to refine the search.

Once all necessary details are provided, click on the search button to proceed with the retrieval process. By following these steps, you can easily access essential legal documents online, in adherence to the directives set forth by the Delhi High Court.
